3rd commandment

July 20, 2009 9 comments

Taking the Lord’s name in vain. Whether or not we know what it means, we have all let it slip off of our toungues. People say it more today than ever before. Even christians shout out God’s name when they don’t mean to call on him for help. Sayings like “Oh, God” or “Oh my God” or even “God d***” Whenever the name of God is used in that way or shouting his name before or after a cuss word is disrespect. Why? Why do we disrespect God? He created us and gives us eternal life and loves us. So why? The only way we should refer to God by his name is calling to him or praying. Or telling others. But never letting his name out just to get a point across. I know some people do it to sound cool 0r because there friends do it. But that does not respect God in anyway. Let’s think about this for the day. Listen to how many times you or your friends and family say these things. Have a blessed day!

2nd Commandment

July 19, 2009 3 comments

Now Exodus 20:4 says “Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in the heaven above, the earth beneath, or the water under the earth.” Now again, just like the 1st commandment, we think to ourselves that nobody does this accept those in foreign countries. Well, again, we are wrong. We probably all think it’s OK to bow down to a picure of Jesus right? No. We cannot. Because it says in the verse anything that IS IN HEAVEN ABOVE. So we can ow down to God when we see him in person but not to a painting. Because is it really God? No. It’s just paint blended together to make a picture! So really, we must cosider this commandment when we bow down to anything or serve anything. Have a blessed day.

The 1st Commandment

July 19, 2009 11 comments

The first commandment says, ” Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.” When we consider this we think bowing down to statues and we say things like, “Oh, I have never broken that commandment!” Or even, “Only people in other countries do that.” But we never consider that there is another meaning. Now, we all know that church is God’s house. Well, sa you had to go to a meeting or a football game or a party but it was at the same time as church. Now answer to yourself truthfully, which one would you choose? I bet some of you would choose the meeting or the game or the party. But what else? How about T.V or computer oreven video games. These can all become “gods” in our lives. We never even think about it. But would you rather read your Bible or watch T.V. Well next time you are forced to make this decision tell yourself the first commandment. Have a blessed day everyone.

When He rolls up His sleeves
He ain’t just puttin’ on the ritz
(our God is an awesome God)
There is thunder in His footsteps
And lightning in His fist
(our God is an awesome God)
Well, the Lord wasn’t joking
When He kicked ’em out of Eden
It wasn’t for no reason that He shed his blood
His return is very close and so you better be believing
that our God is an awesome God

Forgiving is a hard thig to do. Trust me. I”m old enoughto know that. Kid are constantly getting picked on, abused, hurt: and it is so hard to forgive the people who hurt you. People take advantage of you, are mean to you, and..just everything kids go through. it’s hard. Alana and I get picked on and made fun of because we are Godly young woman and are home schooled. They don’t have to ask for forgiveness for you to forgive them. Just remember, no matter how mean people are to you, forgive them. Think of Daniel. The  soldiers killed his parent in front of him, but he forgave them. That is what you need to do. thanks!
